Entangled Futures
Entangled Futures is a hopeful narrative that responds to the 'crisis of connection' – to ourselves, each other and the Earth – a consequence of the mental health crisis, global inequality and societal and ecological collapse. We envisioned a world in which people are hyper-connected in a society centred around compassion, empathy and care. In this world, Western societies have taken up coming-of-age rituals during which they connect to entities outside themselves, a tradition which has long been embedded in many indigenous cultures. The ice sculpture, dandelion and collaboratively illustrated zine are artefacts from a young person's coming of age journey. They were part of the Future Encounters exhibition in Elephant & Castle.
